Sindi Hawkins worked as a nurse
and a lawyer. She was one of the first nurses in Canada to
be recognized by the Canadian Nurses Association as a Neuroscience
nurse specialist. She was head nurse of Neurosurgery / Neuro-ICU
at Foothills Hospital in Calgary and a college instructor
in the diploma nursing program at the Saskatchewan Institute
of Applied Arts and Sciences.
After earning her law degree at the University of Calgary,
Ms. Hawkins worked as a medical-legal consultant.
She was involved in the prevention of elder abuse. She has
also served on an anti-racism committee and with a non-profit
society to aid visible minority and immigrant women.
She was a volunteer with the B.C. Special Olympics and Kelowna
Triathalon. |
