John Weisbeck was a dentist for 25 years. He also set up a successful mixed farming business and fruit and garden centre.

Dr. Weisbeck served as a Kelowna city councillor for five years. He was chair of the Task Force on Crime Prevention and founder of the Kelowna Social Planning Council. He was also a director of the Society for the Mentally Handicapped. He co-founded the Okanagan Opera Society. He was a member of both the Kinsmen and Rotary clubs.

John has three children.
