Honourable Members:
I have the honour to present herewith the First Report of the Special Committee on the Citizens’ Assembly on Electoral Reform for the Fourth Session of the Thirty-Seventh Parliament.
To date, the Committee has held two meetings, including an organizational meeting on May 1, 2003. On May 8, the Committee met to review the nomination of Dr. Jack Blaney as Chair of the Citizens’ Assembly on Electoral Reform.
After careful consideration, the Committee unanimously endorses the appointment of Dr. Jack Blaney as Chair of the Citizens’ Assembly on Electoral Reform, and recommends the same to the Legislative Assembly.
