MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2005

The committee met at 12:31 p.m.

              [J. Bray in the chair.]

           J. Bray (Chair): Okay, everybody, I'll call the meeting to order, the Special Committee on the Citizens' Assembly on Electoral Reform. Thank you very much for making your way here. Since we're here to discuss our final report, I'd look for a motion to go in camera.

The committee continued in camera from 12:32 p.m. to 1:07 p.m.

              [J. Bray in the chair.]

           J. Bray (Chair): We're now back in public session. Thank you very much.

Could I look for a motion to adopt the report as amended?

           Motion approved.

           J. Bray (Chair): May I have a motion for me to present the report to the House as soon as is practicable?

           Motion approved.

           J. Bray (Chair): May I have a motion to adopt the press release as amended?

           Motion approved.

           J. Bray (Chair): Committee members, I'd like to thank you very much for participating. This has been an exceptional process. I think we've been very lucky to be this sort of conduit to the Legislature on a process that was unique and groundbreaking and has proven its worth and got the notice of really just about everybody in the Commonwealth interested in deliberative democracy. I'd like to thank Jonathan and Craig James from the Clerk of Committees staff for doing all the logistics and for the work they did to allow us to prepare our report.

With that, I'll look for a motion to adjourn.

The committee adjourned at 1:09 p.m.
