HEALTH COMMITTEE TO HONOUR 10-YEAR OLD ARTIST OF DRAWING ON COVER OF REPORT ABOUT COMBATTING CHILDHOOD OBESITY AND PHYSICAL INACTIVITY
Victoria – Members of the Select Standing Committee on Health of the Legislative Assembly of B.C. will honour the young artist whose artwork won the committee's drawing contest, part of an innovative youth consultation process used to help compile their final report on combatting childhood obesity (http://www.myhealthyspace.ca).
The 10-year-old Tsawwassen artist, whose drawing is featured on the committee's final report, will be celebrated during a presentation on Feb. 14. Artwork from dozens of finalists in the Health Committee's drawing contest will be on display in the Reception Hall of the Parliament Building until Feb. 18.
The Select Standing Committee on Health released its final report, titled “A Strategy for Combatting Childhood Obesity and Physical Inactivity in British Columbia,” in November, but will formally present the report to the Legislative Assembly later that afternoon. The contest winner will be present in the public gallery for that event.
