The committee met at 9:30 a.m.

Election of Chair and Deputy Chair

C. James (Clerk Assistant and Clerk of Committees): This being the first meeting of the Select Standing Committee on Public Accounts for the second session of the 39th parliament and there not being a Chairperson, I call for nominations for the Chair.

A Voice: Bruce Ralston.

C. James (Clerk of Committees): Any further nominations? Any further nominations? Seeing no further nominations, I presume you'll accept the nomination.

B. Ralston: I do.

C. James (Clerk of Committees): That being the case, I'll put the question on the motion.

Motion approved.

[B. Ralston in the chair.]

B. Ralston (Chair): Great. Thank you. I'd open nominations for the position of vice-Chair of the committee.

A Voice: Doug Horne.

B. Ralston (Chair): Doug Horne has been nominated. Is there a seconder?

A Voice: Seconded.

B. Ralston (Chair): Any other nominees? Nomination is closed. Doug has told me he will accept. I think he may be on the line there. He has accepted.

Motion approved.

B. Ralston (Chair): Doug Horne is elected vice-Chair of the committee.

There being no further business for the committee, I call for a motion to adjourn.

The committee adjourned at 9:31 a.m.
