| Fred Randall served as Parliamentary
Secretary to the Minister of Energy and Mines and Minister
Responsible for Northern Development from July 1999 to November
2000, and he currently serves as Parliamentary Secretary to
the Minister of Energy and Mines.
Before that, he served as Parliamentary Secretary to the
Minister of Employment and Investment from February 1998 to
July 1999 and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Energy
and Mines from January 1997 to February 1998.
Fred was first elected to the Legislative Assembly to represent
the constituency of Burnaby-Edmonds in the 1991 general election,
and was re-elected in 1996.
Born in Vancouver, Fred worked in the construction industry
until 1964, when he was employed as a business representative
for the Operating Engineers, Local 115. He was chief executive
officer for the local from 1980 to 1991.
He served nine years as a Councillor for Burnaby and is an
honorary life member of the Burnaby Citizens Association.
He also served on the Board of Governors of BCIT.
His other community involvements include: New Vista Society,
Century Park Museum Association, Boys and Girls Club, Burnaby
Association for Mentally Handicapped, Burnaby Hospital Association,
Burnaby Horseman's Association, Burnaby Volunteer Centre and
Burnaby Multicultural Society.
Fred and Aileen Randall have lived in Burnaby-Edmonds for
40 years. They have two children and four grandchildren. |
