Scott Hamilton is the MLA for the riding of Delta North, and was first elected to represent the great people of Delta in the Legislative Assembly on May 14, 2013. Currently he Chairs the Select Standing Committees on Finance and Government Services, and is a member of the Cabinet Committee on Strong Economy and the Select Standing Committees on Aboriginal Affairs and Legislative Initiatives
Prior to representing Delta North in the Legislature, Scott served four consecutive terms spanning over eleven years with Delta City Council. From his time as a City Councilor, Scott has extensive experience serving on various committees that included Downtown Ladner Waterfront Redevelopment Advisory Committee, the Agricultural Advisory Committee, the Parks, Recreation & Culture Commission and the Metro Vancouver Board of Directors.
Scott's passion for serving the best interests of his community comes following a lengthy career in information technology that spanned over 30 years. Scott also spent time volunteering as a Delta Parks and Recreation Commissioner. He is actively involved in a number of other volunteer organizations, and is an ambassador for BC Guide Dogs and Autism Support Dogs Society. Scott was heavily involved with the development of the Guide Dog and Service Dog Act, which is new legislation that modernizes guide dog and service dog guidelines in B.C.
Scott Hamilton has lived in North Delta for over 30 years. He and his wife Kristen have two grown daughters.
