Book a School Tour

Proof of Vaccination:

All Members of the Legislative Assembly, staff, and visitors (aged 12+) to the Parliament Buildings are required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination and a piece of ID prior to entry. This initiative is expected to end on Thursday, June 30, 2022, but may be subject to further extension by the Legislative Assembly Management Committee. Additional information on the Legislative Assembly's COVID-19 initiatives is available here.

Outdoor Tours (New):

School group that are not able to book an indoor tour due to the proof of vaccination requirement are invited to book an outdoor tour of the Legislative Precinct. Tour Guides will provide an overview of the history of the property, share stories about the Parliament Buildings, and show students some of the most interesting spots around the Legislative Precinct. Click on the 'Book Now' button to arrange for your outdoor walking tour.

School Tours

Tours are offered between 9:30 am and 3:00 pm PST, Monday to Friday. We are closed on statutory holidays.

Group Size

The maximum number people on each tour is 35 students and 5 accompanying adults. Groups that are larger than this will need to book multiple tours.

Observing Debates

School groups may be allotted 20 minutes in the Public Gallery to observe debates when the Legislative Assembly is meeting. Make sure you book using the Tour with Gallery option if you wish to observe debates.

Length of Visit

Plan to spend approximately 1 hour at the Parliament Buildings for a guided tour or 1.5 hours if you will also be observing debates. 

Please let us know in advance if you have any time constraints so that we can accomodate your schedule.

Important Information

If you are coming on a day that the Legislative Assembly is meeting, please be aware that rooms that are normally included on guided tours may be closed for government events and activities. 

Tour times, routes and schedules are subject to change without notice and tours may be cancelled at any time due to events or operational requirements.

There is no public parking on the property, but there are many options nearby. Please visit our Visitor Parking page for information.

The Tour Office is not able to store bags or backpacks. Students will be required to carry their belongings during the tour.

Members of the Legislative Assembly

We will notify your school’s MLA of your visit and invite them to meet with your class during the tour.

Please note that MLAs have very busy schedules so we cannot guarantee that they will be available at the time of your visit. You are encouraged to invite your school’s MLA to visit your classroom when the Legislative Assembly is not in session. Contact information for MLAs is available here.

How to Book

1. Click on the 'Book Now' button above.

2. When the new page opens, select one of the three tour options:

  • Tour (guided tour only)
  • Tour with Gallery (guided tour and time to observe debates)    
  • Virtual Classroom (online learning session)             

3. Click on the blue 'Book Now' for the appropriate category. 

4. Complete the booking form.

5. You will be receive a tentative booking email once your request has been submitted. 

6. You will receive a tour confirmation email once your request has been approved.

Please note:

  • The calendar on the booking form will display tour times that are still available on the day you wish to visit. 
  • The 'Group Tour with Gallery' calendar will only display available tours on days when the Legislative Assembly is meeting.
