Book a School Tour

COVID-19 Update

All Members of the Legislative Assembly, staff, and visitors to the Parliament Buildings, born in 2009 or earlier (12+), are required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination and a piece of ID prior to entry. The program will be re-evaluated regularly and may be subject to extension by the Legislative Assembly Management Committee. Tours are appropriate​ for students in grades K - 12​.


Tours are offered between 9:30 am and 3:00 pm PST, Monday to Friday. We are closed on statutory holidays.

Group Size

We ask that teachers book one tour for each class (up to a maximum of 30 students and 5 accompanying adults). 

For groups that are travelling with more than one class, we ask that you book a separate tour for each.

Length of Visit

Plan to spend approximately 1 hour at the Parliament Buildings for a guided tour or 1.5 hours if you will also be observing debates. 

Please let us know in advance if you have any time constraints so that we can accomodate your schedule.


Observing Debates

School groups are allotted 20 minutes in the Public Gallery to observe debates when the Legislative Assembly is meeting. If you wish to include this as part of your visit, please book using the School Group Tour with Gallery option below.

  • Please note: requests for seats in the Public Gallery will remain tentative until a decision has been made to reopen the Gallery to groups. We will follow up with the teacher to confirm Gallery seating closer to the date of the tour.

Members of the Legislative Assembly

We will notify you school’s MLA of your visit and invite them to meet with your class. MLAs have very busy schedules so we cannot guarantee that they will be available at the time of your visit. You are encouraged to invite your school’s MLA to visit your classroom when the Legislative Assembly is not in session.


Once your session has been approved, you will receive a confirmation email with additional information.

Additional Information

  • There is no public parking on the property, but there are many options nearby. Please visit our Visitor Parking page for information.
  • If you are coming on a day that the Legislative Assembly is meeting, please be aware that rooms that are normally included on guided tours may be closed for government events and activities. 
  • The Tour Office is not able to store bags or backpacks. Students will be required to carry their belongings during the tour.
  • Tour times, routes and schedules are subject to change without notice and tours may be cancelled at any time due to events or operational requirements.
