Guided tours provide a fun and informative introduction to the role of the Legislative Assembly, the history of the Parliament Buildings, and the provincial level of government. We look forward to your visit!

Tour Information

  • The maximum number people for each tour is 35 students and 5 adults. Larger groups will need to book multiple tours.

  • Plan to spend approximately one hour for a guided tour, or 1.5 hours if you will also be observing debates.

  • School groups must arrive at the School Entrance, which is located at the back of the Parliament Buildings. This allows children to bypass the security screening process.

  • Guided tours typically includes four rooms - the Lower Rotunda, the Memorial Rotunda, the Members' Lobby (with view into the Chamber) and the Hall of Honour. If you are coming on a day that the Legislative Assembly is meeting, some of these rooms will not be accessible due to government events and activities.

  • If there is a topic of specific interest to your class, please share that information on the booking form.

  • The interior of the Parliament Buildings can be a noisy and busy environment, which some students may find overwhelming. There is a quiet space available where a student, accompanied by an adult, can go to relax. Please let us know in advance or speak with a tour guide on the day of your visit if you think a student may need to use this space during the tour.

  • During the months of May and June guided tours are delivered by college and university students. Our summer guides bring lots of fun and enthusiasm to the tour, but please be aware that they may be new to the subject matter.

Observing Debates

School groups may be allotted 20 minutes in the Public Gallery to observe debates when the Legislative Assembly is meeting

  • Make sure you book using the 'Tour with Gallery' option if you wish to observe debates as part of your visit.
