PRESERVING BRUNSWICK POINT
FOR AGRICULTURE AND MIGRATING
WATERFOWL HABITAT ACT

This Bill requires certain treatment of Brunswick Point Crown lands by the government.

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

Definition

1 In this Act:

"Crown land" has the same meaning as in the Land Act.

Preserving Brunswick Point lands

2 Brunswick Point Crown land, within the agricultural land reserve, which has

(a) a farm use covenant, restricting lands to agricultural use, and

(b) a conservation covenant, conserving the lands for soil-based agriculture and migratory bird habitat and resting grounds,

in perpetuity, must be sold back to the original farm families or be offered to Delta farmers with long term leases.

Commencement

3 This Act comes into force on the date it receives Royal Assent.
