The Clerk of the House informed the House of the unavoidable absence of the Speaker, whereupon Mr. Barnes, Deputy Speaker, took the Chair, pursuant to Standing Order 12.
The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."
Bill (No. 2) intituled Ministry of Advanced Education, Training and Technology Statutes Amendment Act, 1992 was read a second time and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for committal at the next sitting after today.
Bill (No. 22) intituled Barbers and Hairdressers Statutes Amendment Act, 1992 was read a second time and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for committal at the next sitting after today.
On the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 23) intituled University Amendment Act, 1992, a debate arose.
The debate continued.
The debate on the amendment continued.
On the motion of Ms. Reid, debate on the amendment was adjourned to the next sitting of the House.
And then the House adjourned at 11.58 a.m.
