On the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 50) intituled Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, a debate arose.

The debate continued.

Bill (No. 50) read a second time and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for committal at the next sitting after today.

And then the House adjourned at 12.08 p.m.

The Hon. J. Smallwood, on behalf of the Hon. A. Hagen (Minister of Education and Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism and Human Rights), presented to the Speaker a Message from His Honour the Lieutenant Governor, which read as follows:

The Lieutenant Governor transmits herewith Bill (No. 74) intituled Teaching Profession Amendment Act, 1992 and recommends the same to the Legislative Assembly.

Order called for "Oral Questions by Members."

Mr. Hartley presented a petition relating to the spraying of fungicides, herbicides and pesticides in Pitt Meadows.

By leave, Mr. Hanson tabled a document referred to during Oral Question Period.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

On the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 64) intituled Members' Conflict of Interest Amendment Act, 1992, a debate arose.

The debate continued.

Mr. Tanner moved the following amendment--
That all the words after "that" be deleted and "that" be followed by:

"Bill 64 be not now read a second time, but that the subject matter be referred to the Select Standing Committee on Parliamentary Reform, Ethical Conduct, Standing Orders and Private Bills."

The debate on the amendment continued.
