n the motion of the Hon. G. Clark, the House proceeded to consideration of Motion 64 on the Order Paper.

64   The Hon. D. Zirnhelt moved--
Be it resolved that this Legislature call upon the Government of Canada to not ratify the North American Free Trade Agreement as initialled on October 7, 1992.

Ms. Tyabji moved the following amendment, namely, by adding the words: "and negotiation on the agreement be suspended until the federal government receives a new mandate."

The debate on the amendment continued.
