Prayers by Mr. Serwa.

On the motion of Mr. Weisgerber, Bill (No. M 206) intituled Initiative Act was introduced, read a first time, and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for second reading at the next sitting after today.

Order called for "Oral Questions by Members."

Mr. Fox asked leave, pursuant to Standing Order 35, to move adjournment of the House to discuss a definite matter of urgent public importance, namely, the need for a firm commitment from the federal and provincial governments of loan guarantees required by Canadian Airline employees to complete a deal with Canadian Airlines and American Airlines.

The Hon. G. Clark made representations regarding the matter.

The Speaker stated that she would take the matter under advisement.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

The House resumed the adjourned debate on the amendment to the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 84) intituled Labour Relations Code.

The debate continued.

On the motion of Mr. Farrell-Collins that the debate on the amendment be adjourned to the next sitting, the House divided.

The House divided on the amendment to the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 84) intituled Labour Relations Code, that this House declines to give second reading to Bill (No. 84) for the reason that the Bill, in principle, erodes fundamental individual rights of workers and employers.

The amendment was negatived on the following division:
