The Hon. E. Barnes (Speaker) tabled the following documents:
Legislative Assembly Management Committee Annual Report for the period July 8, 1994 to March 31, 1996.
Financial Statement of the Office of the Auditor General of British Columbia, for the years ended March 31, 1994, and March 31, 1995.
Report of the Chief Electoral Officer relating to the May 3, 1995, by-election in Abbotsford Electoral District, pursuant to section 5 (9) of the Election Act (1979).
Report of the Commissioner of Conflict of Interest, (1995-96).
Auditor General 1995/96: Report 1 -- Report on the 1994/95 Public Accounts, Province of British Columbia.
Auditor General 1995/96: Report 2 -- Performance Audits -- British Columbia Ferry Corporation.
Auditor General 1995/96: Report 3 -- Compliance-with- Authorities Audits.
Special Report No. 18 of the Ombudsman with respect to A Complaint Regarding an Unfair Public Hearing Process (City of Port Moody).

The Speaker announced that His Honour the Lieutenant Governor was about to enter the Chamber.

The Honourable Garde B. Gardom, Q.C., Lieutenant Governor of the Province, having entered the House, took his seat on the Throne, and was pleased to deliver the following gracious Speech:

Honourable Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly:

In closing this fourth session of the thirty-fifth parliament of British Columbia, I wish to commend you on the accomplishments of the past year. The session has seen the passage of measures of wide-ranging and significant importance to the people of our province. Also, hon. members, on behalf of all British Columbians I wish to express my appreciation for the care and attention you have given to your deliberations. I now relieve you of your legislative duties.

His Honour the Lieutenant Governor was then pleased to retire.

The Hon. U. Dosanjh (Attorney General) then said:

Honourable Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly:

It is His Honour the Lieutenant Governor's will and pleasure that the Legislative Assembly be prorogued until 2 o'clock p.m. today, and this Provincial Legislative Assembly is hereby prorogued accordingly.

The Statement of Unclaimed Money Deposits pursuant to the Unclaimed Money Act, for the year ended March 31, 1995, was received by the Office of the Clerk on March 7, 1996.

Pursuant to section 37 (1) (c) of the Constitution Act:

A declaration by the Member of the Electoral District of West Vancouver-Garibaldi (Mr. D. Mitchell) of his intention to resign his seat as a Member of the Legislative Assembly, effective March 26, 1996, was delivered to the Speaker.

And then the House prorogued at 10.11 a.m.
