BILL 34 -- 1997
MOTOR VEHICLE AMENDMENT ACT, 1997

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

1 Section 100 (2) of the Motor Vehicle Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 318, is amended by striking out "$300" and substituting "$500".

2 Section 122 (2) and (3) is repealed and the following substituted:

(2) The driver of an emergency vehicle must not exercise the privileges granted by subsection (1) except in accordance with the regulations.

3 Section 210 (3) is amended by adding the following paragraph:

(q) respecting the circumstances in which and the conditions on which a driver of an emergency vehicle may exercise the privileges granted by section 122 (1).

Commencement

4 Sections 1 to 3 of this Act come into force by regulation of the Lieutenant Governor in Council.
