WRITTEN QUESTIONS ON NOTICE

1   Ms. Reid to ask the Hon. the Minister of Health the following question:

When will the Minister of Health reinstate the drugs Alanzapine and Rispiradone under the B.C. Pharmacare Program thereby eliminating the current necessity for "special authority".

2   Ms. Hawkins to ask the Hon. the Minister of Health the following questions:

1. With respect to the offer made by the Chemainus Health Care Centre Society to cooperate with the amalgamation process if the Minister of Health would sign a trust agreement for the land donated to the community in 1898:
What is the total assessed value of the land currently occupied by the Chemainus Health Care Centre and did that value play a part in the Minister of Health's decision to discharge the Chemainus Health Care Centre Society Board on June 26, 1997 and therefore delete this Board's proposal?
2. With respect to the emergency room at Chemainus Health Care Centre:
What is the cost of operating the emergency room at the Chemainus Health Care Centre 24 hours per day, and has the Health Minister conducted an analysis of how much a potential closure will save versus the impact of the closure on patients' lives?

3 Ms. Sanders to ask the Hon. the Minister of Health the following question:

On May 20, 1997, the Minister of Health made assurances that a committee struck to review "first break policy" for antipsychotics respiridone and olanzapine would report to her in a month. Six weeks later no response has been forthcoming. When will British Columbians receive this important response?
