The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

The Hon. J. MacPhail advised that the House will sit Wednesday, pursuant to Standing Order 2 (2).

Order for Committee of Supply called.

Pursuant to Sessional Order, order called for Section A of Committee of Supply (estimates of the Ministry of Attorney General and Ministry Responsible for Multiculturalism, Human Rights and Immigration).

The House resumed the adjourned debate on the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 2) intituled Budget Measures Implementation Act, 1997.

The debate continued.

On the motion of Mr. Hansen, the debate was adjourned to the next sitting of the House.

Section A of Committee of Supply reported progress.

Report to be considered at the next sitting.

Committee to sit again at the next sitting.

And then the House adjourned at 11.57 a.m.

On the motion of Mr. Symons, Bill (No. M 205) intituled Uranium Moratorium Act was introduced, read a first time, and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for second reading at the next sitting after today.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

60   Mr. Penner to move--

Be it resolved that the Legislature of British Columbia urge the Parliament of Canada, prior to the next federal election, to pass legislation required to establish a nation-wide computer bank of known DNA samples to permit police to compare these samples with unidentified DNA samples recovered from crime scenes.
