The Speaker declared a short recess.

His Honour the Lieutenant Governor having entered the House, and being seated in the Chair--

Ian D. Izard, Law Clerk and Clerk Assistant, read the titles to the following Bills:

Bill (No. 2) Budget Measures Implementation Act, 1997.

Bill (No. 3) Corporation Capital Tax Amendment Act, 1997.

Bill (No. 4) Correction Amendment Act, 1997.

Bill (No. 7) Offence Amendment Act, 1997.

Bill (No. 8) British Columbia Neurotrauma Fund Contribution Act.

Bill (No. 10) Food Donor Encouragement Act.

Bill (No. 12) Milk Industry Amendment Act, 1997.

Bill (No. 17) Capital Region Water Supply and Sooke Hills Protection Act.

His Honour was pleased in Her Majesty's name to give assent to the said Bills.

The said assent was announced by E. George MacMinn, Q.C., Clerk of the House, in the following words:

"In Her Majesty's name, His Honour the Lieutenant Governor doth assent to these Bills."

His Honour the Lieutenant Governor was then pleased to retire.

Order called for "Oral Questions by Members."

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

By leave, the Hon. G. Clark moved--

Be it resolved that this House supports the Province's decision to serve notice of termination of the seabed license of occupation agreement associated with the Canadian Forces Maritime Experimental Test Range at Nanoose in response to the extreme and inflexible position taken by the United States in the negotiations to achieve a new Pacific Salmon Treaty.

A debate arose.
