Order called for "Oral Questions by Members."

By leave, Ms. Chong tabled a copy of a letter from E. N. (Ted) Hughes, Q.C. to Mr. Thorpe, M.L.A., regarding constituency offices.

Mr. Thorpe advised the Chair of his intention to raise a matter of privilege with respect to statements made in the House on Monday, May 26, by the Member for Cowichan-Ladysmith.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

Order for Committee of Supply called.

Pursuant to Sessional Order, order called for Section A of Committee of Supply (estimates of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing).

The House resumed the adjourned debate on the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 14) intituled Environment, Lands and Parks Statutes Amendment Act, 1997.

The debate continued.

Bill (No. 14) read a second time and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for committal at the next sitting after today.

Bill (No. 9) intituled Tourism British Columbia Act was again committed.

Mr. Thorpe moved an amendment to section 11 of Bill (No. 9) which was defeated on the following division:
