A debate arose.
Mr. Weisgerber sought leave to move an amendment to the motion.
The Speaker ruled a motion to amend instructions to a Committee requires notice and cited notes to Standing Order 53 from Parliamentary Practice in British Columbia, Third Edition, at page 120. The Speaker further stated that, in the present circumstances, he would ask leave of the House to allow the amendment to be moved.
Leave was not granted.
On the motion of Mr. Jarvis, the debate was adjourned until later today.
