Ms. Hawkins presented a petition regarding changes to the Labour Code.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

Bill (No. 26) intituled Labour Relations Code Amendment Act, 1998 was again committed.

Mr. Hansen moved an amendment to the proposed section 55.18 (1) contained within section 2 of Bill (No. 26) which was defeated, on division.

Section 55.18 contained within section 2 of Bill (No. 26) passed, on division.

Section 55.19 contained within section 2 of Bill (No. 26) passed, on division.

The Committee rose, reported progress and asked leave to sit again.

Bill to be considered at the next sitting.

And then the House adjourned at 11.57 a.m.

  53   Mr. G. F. Wilson to move--

Be it resolved that the Legislative Assembly, through the passage of this Motion, urge the federal government to place priority on the implementation of recommendation 7 of the West Coast Report, an interim report tabled in the House of Commons in April 1998 by the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans, namely:

". . . the federal government to ensure that adequate numbers of new personnel, and adequate operating funds for new fishery development and advocacy, be established immediately on the West Coast."

  54   Mr. G. F. Wilson to move--

Be it resolved that the Legislative Assembly instruct Elections British Columbia to finalize the signature count in the Parksville-Qualicum recall campaign and report back to the Legislative Assembly.
