Prayers by Ms. Walsh.

On the motion of Mr. Kasper, Bill (No. M 207) intituled Health Care Funding Protection Act was introduced, read a first time, and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for second reading at the next sitting after today.

On the Motion of Mr. Kasper, Bill (No. M 208) intituled Crown Corporation Protection Act was introduced, read a first time, and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for second reading at the next sitting after today.

Ms. Roddick tabled a petition regarding the management of ICBC.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

Bill (No. 3) intituled Income Tax Amendment Act, 2001, was committed, reported complete without amendment, read a third time and passed.

Bill (No. 4) intituled Budget Measures Implementation Act, 2001, was committed, reported complete with amendment and, by leave, read a third time and passed.

The Hon. P. Ramsey (Minister of Finance and Corporate Relations and Minister Responsible for Northern Development) presented to the Speaker a Message from His Honour the Lieutenant Governor, which read as follows:

 Lieutenant Governor

The Lieutenant Governor transmits herewith Bill (No. 5) intituled Supply Act (No. 1), 2001 and recommends the same to the Legislative Assembly.

The Speaker declared a short recess for distribution of the Bill.

Pursuant to Standing Order 81, Bill permitted to be advanced all stages this day.

Bill (No. 5) was read a second time.

On the motion of the Hon. P. Ramsey (Bill No. 5) was referred to Committee of the Whole House to be considered forthwith.

Bill (No. 5) was committed, reported complete without amendment, read a third time and passed.

Bill (No. 11) intituled Sex Offender Registry Act was committed.

The Committee rose, reported progress and asked leave to sit again.

Bill to be considered at the next sitting.

And then the House adjourned at 11.37 a.m.

The Hon. U. Dosanjh (Premier) made a ministerial statement regarding the expiration of the Softwood Lumber Agreement.

Mr. Campbell made a statement.

The Hon. W. Hartley (Speaker) tabled the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner Annual Report, 2000.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

Bill (No. 6) intituled Adult Guardianship Statutes Amendment Act, 2001, was committed, reported complete with amendment and, by leave, read a third time and passed.

Bill (No. 11) intituled Sex Offender Registry Act was again committed, reported complete without amendment.

Bill (No. 11) to be read a third time at the next sitting.

On the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 14) intituled Muskwa-Kechika Management Area Amendment Act, 2001, a debate arose.

Bill (No. 14) read a second time and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for committal at the next sitting after today.

On the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 15) intituled Protected Areas of British Columbia Amendment Act, 2001, a debate arose.

Bill (No. 15) read a second time and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for committal at the next sitting after today.

The Speaker declared a short recess.

His Honour the Lieutenant Governor having entered the House, and being seated in the Chair --

Ian D. Izard, Esq., Law Clerk and Clerk Assistant, read the titles to the following Acts:

Bill (No. 2) Child Care BC Act.

Bill (No. 3) Income Tax Amendment Act, 2001.

Bill (No. 4) Budget Measures Implementation Act, 2001.

Bill (No. 6) Adult Guardianship Statutes Amendment Act, 2001.

Bill (No. 9) Access to Education Act.

His Honour was pleased in Her Majesty's name to give assent to the said Acts.

The said assent was announced by Ian D. Izard, Esq., Law Clerk and Clerk Assistant, in the following words:

"In Her Majesty's name, His Honour the Lieutenant Governor doth assent to these Acts."

Ian D. Izard, Esq., Law Clerk and Clerk Assistant, read the title to the following Acts:

Bill (No. 5) Supply Act (No. 1), 2001.

Bill (No. 16) Supply Act, 2000-2001 (Supplementary No. 3).

The said assent was announced by Ian D. Izard, Law Clerk and Clerk Assistant, in the following words:

"In Her Majesty's name, His Honour the Lieutenant Governor doth thank Her Majesty's loyal subjects, accepts their benevolence, and assents to these Acts."

His Honour the Lieutenant Governor was then pleased to retire.

And then the House adjourned at 5.20 p.m.
