The Hon. B. Penner (Minister of Environment and Minister Responsible for Water Stewardship and Sustainable Communities) tabled a petition regarding affordable housing.

The Hon. B. Barisoff (Speaker) tabled the Ombudsman Special Report No. 28: Ombudsman Investigation of the Public Interest Advocacy Centre's Complaints about the Ministry of Employment and Income Assistance.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

Order for Committee of Supply called.

Pursuant to Sessional Order, order called for Section A of Committee of Supply.

On the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 15) intituled Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act, 2006, a debate arose.

Bill (No. 15) read a second time and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for committal at the next sitting after today.

Bill (No. 10) intituled Community Services Statutes Amendment Act, 2006 was committed, reported complete without amendment, read a third time and passed.

On the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 14) intituled Small Business and Revenue Statutes Amendment Act, 2006, a debate arose.

Bill (No. 14) read a second time and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for committal at the next sitting after today.

Bill (No. 9) intituled Forests and Range Statutes Amendment Act, 2006 was committed.

The Committee rose, reported progress and asked leave to sit again.

On the motion of Mr. Cubberley, Bill (No. M 203) intituled Tobacco Statutes (Prohibiting Tobacco Sales From Pharmacies) Amendment Act, 2006 was introduced, read a first time, and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for second reading at the next sitting after today.

Order called for"Members' Statements."

Order called for "Oral Questions by Members."

Ms. Conroy tabled a petition regarding the Health Team at Kootenay-Boundary Regional Hospital and Continuing Care.

Mr. B. Simpson reserved his right to raise a matter of privilege.

By leave, Mr. Mayencourt moved--
That Bill (No. M 202) intituled Apology Act be withdrawn from the Order Paper.

Motion agreed to.

By leave, the Hon. R. Coleman (Minister of Forests and Range and Minister Responsible for Housing) tabled the following:

Copy of a letter to the Deputy Minister of Forests and Range and Ministry Responsible for Housing dated November 14, 2005; and
Copy of a letter from the Conflict of Interest Commissioner dated November 17, 2005.

His Honour was pleased in Her Majesty's name to give assent to the said Acts.

The said assent was announced by E. George MacMinn, Q.C., Clerk of the House, in the following words:

His Honour was pleased in Her Majesty's name to give assent to the said Acts.

"In Her Majesty's name, His Honour the Administrator doth thank Her Majesty's loyal subjects, accepts their benevolence, and assents to these Acts."

NOTICE OF MOTIONS

59  Mr. Dix to move--
Be it resolved that this House recognize the genocide of the Armenians as a crime against humanity. Be it further resolved that this House urge the BC government to designate April 24th of every year hereafter throughout BC as a day of remembrance for the 1.5 million Armenians who fell victim to the first genocide of the 20th Century.
