On the motion of Mr. Brar, Bill (No. M 207) intituled Crystal Meth Prevention Act, 2006, was introduced, read a first time, and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for second reading at the next sitting after today.

Order called for "Members' Statements."

The Hon. M. de Jong made a statement pursuant to Standing Order 81.1 (1) regarding the completion of scheduled business within the allotted time.

Mr. Farnworth made a statement.

Order called for "Oral Questions by Members."

Mr. Horning presented a Report of the Select Standing Committee on Parliamentary Reform, Ethical Conduct, Standing Orders and Private Bills, as follows:

Your Select Standing Committee on Parliamentary Reform, Ethical Conduct, Standing Orders and Private Bills begs leave to report as follows:

That the Revision of the Union of British Columbia Municipalities Act prepared pursuant to the Statute Revision Act and attached hereto, is approved and the Committee recommends that it be brought into force.

All of which is respectfully submitted.

Section A of Committee of Supply reported the Resolution and completion of the estimates of the Ministry of Transportation and further reported progress of the estimates of the Ministry of Health.

Report to be considered at the next sitting.

Committee to sit again at the next sitting.

By agreement, summary debate of estimates passed in Section A (Ministry of Transportation) to be considered at the next sitting.

NOTICE OF MOTIONS

68  Ms. James to move--
Be it resolved that this House calls upon the government to amend the Lobbyist Registration Act to make lobbying of government and crown agencies open and accountable and to protect public interest by:
· establishing a code of conduct for lobbyists; and
· expanding the definition of lobbying to include those currently allowed to lobby without registering; and
· requiring that lobbying contacts with senior public office holders be recorded; and
· increasing penalties for violation of the act.
 
69  Mr. Horgan to move--
Be it resolved that this House celebrate the government's commitment to Special Needs Students by addressing the assessment backlog in BC Public Schools.
