Barisoff (Speaker) tabled a Report of the Conflict of Interest Commissioner pursuant to section 19 (1) of the Members' Conflict of Interest Act in the Matter of an Application by Shane Simpson, MLA for Vancouver-Hastings, Opposition Critic for Environment, with respect to Alleged Contraventions of Provisions of the Members' Conflict of Interest Act by the Honourable Pat Bell, MLA for Prince George North, Minister of Agriculture and Lands.

The Hon. M. de Jong (Minister of Labour and Citizens' Services) tabled the Labour Relations Board Annual Report, 2005.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

NOTICE OF MOTIONS

Monday, May 15

 
68  Ms. James to move--
Be it resolved that this House calls upon the government to amend the Lobbyist Registration Act to make lobbying of government and crown agencies open and accountable and to protect public interest by:
· establishing a code of conduct for lobbyists; and
· expanding the definition of lobbying to include those currently allowed to lobby without registering; and
· requiring that lobbying contacts with senior public office holders be recorded; and
· increasing penalties for violation of the act.
 
69  Mr. Horgan to move--
Be it resolved that this House celebrate the government's commitment to Special Needs Students by addressing the assessment backlog in BC Public Schools.
