Order called for "Oral Questions by Members."

Ms. Trevena presented a petition regarding cuts to childcare.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

The Hon. C. Taylor (Minister of Finance) presented to the Speaker a Message from Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor, which read as follows:

Lieutenant Governor

The Lieutenant Governor transmits herewith:

Supplementary Estimates No. 1 -- Fiscal Year Ending March 31, 2007;
and recommends the same to the Legislative Assembly.

Ordered, that the Message, and the Supplementary Estimates accompanying same, be referred to the Committee of Supply.

The House recessed until 2.35 p.m.

The Hon. B. Barisoff (Speaker) tabled the Office of the Auditor General Service Plan 2007/08-2009/10.

Order for Committee of Supply called.

The House resolved itself into Committee of Supply (Supplementary Estimates - Other Appropriations, Contingencies).

43 (S). Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $290,000,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Other Appropriations, Contingencies (All Ministries) and New Programs for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2007.


The Committee reported the Resolution.

Report to be considered forthwith.

The Hon. C. Taylor moved--
That the report of resolution from the Committee of Supply on February 28, 2007, be now received, taken as read and agreed to.

Motion agreed to.

The Hon. C. Taylor moved--
That there be granted from and out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund the sum of $290,000,000. This sum is in addition to that authorized to be paid under section 1 of the Supply Act, 2006-2007 and is granted to Her Majesty towards defraying the charges and expenses of the public service of the province for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2007.

Motion agreed to.

The Hon. C. Taylor (Minister of Finance) presented to the Speaker a Message from Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor, which read as follows:

The Lieutenant Governor transmits herewith Bill (No. 4) intituled Supply Act, 2006-2007 (Supplementary Estimates No. 1) and recommends the same to the Legislative Assembly.

Bill introduced and read a first time.

The Speaker declared a short recess for distribution of the Bill.

The Speaker stated that pursuant to established practice, the Bill would proceed through all stages in one day.

Bill (No. 4) was read a second time, committed, reported complete without amendment, read a third time and passed.

Pursuant to Order, the House resumed the adjourned debate on the motion "That the Speaker do now leave the Chair" for the House to go into Committee of Supply.

The debate continued.

On the motion of Mr. Dix, the debate was adjourned to the next sitting of the House.

And then the House adjourned at 6.28 p.m.
