Be it resolved that this House recognizes the vital role of independent power producers in our goal of becoming energy self sufficient and our goal of producing more electricity in an environmentally friendly manner.

A debate arose.

On the motion of Mr. Bennett, the debate was adjourned to the next sitting of the House.

Resolved, That the said Message, and the amendments accompanying the same, be referred to the Committee having in charge Bill (No. 2).

Bill (No. 2) intituled Budget Measures Implementation Act, 2007 was committed, reported complete with amendment, read a third time and passed.

Bill (No. 3) intituled Income Tax Amendment Act, 2007 was committed, reported complete with amendment, read a third time and passed.

13. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $114,062,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Ministry of Agriculture and Lands, Ministry Operations, to 31st March, 2008.

14. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $2,402,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Ministry of Agriculture and Lands, Agricultural Land Commission, to 31st March, 2008.

15. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $62,311,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Ministry of Agriculture and Lands, Integrated Land Management Bureau, to 31st March, 2008.


Section A of Committee of Supply reported the Resolutions and completion of the estimates of the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands and progress of the Ministry of Employment and Income Assistance.

Report to be considered at the next sitting.

Committee to sit again at the next sitting.

By agreement, summary debate of estimates passed in Section A (Ministry of Agriculture and Lands) to be considered at the next sitting.

The Speaker declared a short recess.

Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor having entered the House, and being seated in the Chair --

E. George MacMinn, Q.C., Clerk of the House, read the titles to the following Acts:

Bill (No. 2) Budget Measures Implementation Act, 2007.
Bill (No. 3) Income Tax Amendment Act, 2007.
Bill (No. 5) Ministerial Accountability Bases Act, 2006-2007.

Her Honour was pleased in Her Majesty's name to give assent to the said Acts.

The said assent was announced by E. George MacMinn, Q.C., Clerk of the House, in the following words:

"In Her Majesty's name, Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor doth assent to these Acts."

E. George MacMinn, Q.C., Clerk of the House, read the title to the following Act:

Bill (No. 4) Supply Act, 2006-2007 (Supplementary Estimates No. 1).

Her Honour was pleased in Her Majesty's name to give assent to the said Act.

The said assent was announced by E. George MacMinn, Q.C., Clerk of the House, in the following words:

"In Her Majesty's name, Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor doth thank Her Majesty's loyal subjects, accepts their benevolence, and assents to this Act."

Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor was then pleased to retire.

And then the House adjourned at 6.18 p.m.
