Pursuant to Sessional Order, order called for Section A of Committee of Supply.

The House resumed the adjourned debate on the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 20) intituled School (Student Achievement Enabling) Amendment Act, 2007.

The debate continued.

On the motion of Mr. Sather, the debate was adjourned to the next sitting of the House.

Section A of Committee of Supply reported progress of the estimates of the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources.

Report to be considered at the next sitting.

Committee to sit again at the next sitting.

And then the House adjourned at 11.54 a.m.

The Hon. R. Thorpe (Minister of Small Business and Revenue and Minister Responsible for Deregulation) presented to the Speaker a Message from Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor, which read as follows:

The Lieutenant Governor transmits herewith Bill (No. 32) intituled Assessment Statutes Amendment Act, 2007 and recommends the same to the Legislative Assembly.

Mr. Fraser presented a petition regarding antifreeze containing ethylene glycol.

 49  The Hon. M. de Jong moved--
Be it resolved that in the spirit of the Province's New Relationship with the First Nations and Aboriginal people, the Legislative Assembly accept and adopt the 2001 Report of the Speaker's Advisory Panel titled "A Review of the Depiction of Aboriginal Peoples in the Artworks of the Parliament Buildings" and refer this matter to the Legislative Assembly Management Committee for implementation of the report's recommendation.

NOTICE OF MOTIONS

Wednesday, April 25

 50  Mr. Brar to move--
Be it resolved that this House recommend the construction of the Ambulatory Care Facility in Surrey to begin in 2007 as recommended by the Fraser Health Authority and announced by the Minister of Health, rather than delaying the construction to 2008 as announced by the Premier; and,
Be it further resolved that the construction of the Ambulatory Care Facility be completed by 2009 as recommended by the Fraser Health Authority and accepted by the Minister of Health, rather than delaying it to 2010 as recently announced by the Minister of Health.
