Pursuant to Sessional Order, order called for Section A of Committee of Supply.

By leave, on the motion of the Hon. G. Abbott, it was Ordered that leave be given for the Select Standing Committee on Parliamentary Reform, Ethical Conduct, Standing Orders and Private Bills to meet while the House is in session today.

On the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 26) intituled Health Statutes Amendment Act, 2007, a debate arose.

Bill (No. 26) read a second time and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for committal at the next sitting after today.

Pursuant to Sessional Order, order called for Section B of Committee of Supply.

Section B of Committee of Supply reported progress of the estimates of the Ministry of Health.

Report to be considered at the next sitting.

Mr. Speaker:

Your Select Standing Committee on Parliamentary Reform, Ethical Conduct, Standing Orders and Private Bills begs leave to report as follows:

(1) That the preamble to Bill (No. Pr 401) intituled Pacific Coast University for Workplace Health Sciences Act has been proved, and the Committee recommends to the House that the Bill proceed to Second Reading;

(2) That the preamble to Bill (No. Pr 402) intituled Mission Foundation Amendment Act, 2007 has been proved, and the Committee recommends to the House that the Bill proceed to Second Reading.

All of which is respectfully submitted.

Section B of Committee of Supply reported progress of the estimates of the Ministry of Health.

22. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $255,333,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Ministry of Community Services, Ministry Operations, to 31st March, 2008.

23. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $12,233,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Ministry of Community Services, BC Public Service Agency, to 31st March, 2008.


Section A of Committee of Supply reported the Resolutions and completion of the estimates of the Ministry of Community Services.

By agreement, summary debate of estimates passed in Section A (Ministry of Community Services) to be considered at the next sitting.

59  Ms. Trevena to move--
Be it resolved that this House agrees to the principles of domestic violence courts. Be it further resolved that by so doing this House urges the Ministry of the Attorney General to set up a pilot project to establish such a court.
