The Hon. B. Barisoff (Speaker) tabled the Ombudsman Special Report No. 31: Winning Fair and Square: A Report on the British Columbia Lottery Corporation's Prize Payout Process.

The Hon. G. Abbott (Minister of Health) tabled the following documents:

Major Capital Project Plan for Kelowna and Vernon Hospitals Project, pursuant to section 14 of the Budget Transparency and Accountability Act; and

Major Capital Project Plan for Royal Jubilee Hospital (Victoria), Patient Care Centre, pursuant to section 14 of the Budget Transparency and Accountability Act.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

One-Thirty o'clock p.m.

On the motion of Ms. Thorne, Bill (No. M 220) intituled Home Inspection Act, 2007 was introduced, read a first time, and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for second reading at the next sitting after today.

On the motion of Mr. Sather, Bill (No. M 221) intituled Local Government Conflict of Interest Act, 2007 was introduced, read a first time, and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for second reading at the next sitting after today.

Order called for "Members' Statements."

Order called for "Oral Questions by Members."

Mr. Chudnovsky reserved his right to raise a matter of privilege.

Ms. Trevena presented a petition regarding cuts to childcare.

Mr. B. Simpson presented a petition regarding road conditions in the Likely area.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

Pursuant to Sessional Order, order called for Section A and Section B of Committee of Supply.

10. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $13,771,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Office of the Premier, Office of the Premier, to 31st March, 2008.


Section B of Committee of Supply reported the Resolution and completion of the estimates of the Office of the Premier.

11. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $50,960,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Ministry of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation, Ministry Operations, to 31st March, 2008


Section A of Committee of Supply reported the Resolution and completion of the estimates of the Ministry of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation.

By agreement, summary debate of estimates passed in Section A (Ministry of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation) to be considered at the next sitting.

NOTICE OF MOTIONS

Wednesday, May 30

64  Mr. Brar to move--
Be it resolved that this House apologize for the incident of Komagata Maru that took place at the Port of Vancouver in 1914 and urge the Federal Government to read a formal apology in the House of Commons; to recognize the government's role in the disgraceful incident of Komagata Maru; and, support the establishment of a permanent memorial to serve as a reminder of the tremendous hurdles that members of the South Asian community faced when they first came to Canada.
