Order called for “Oral Questions by Members.”

The Hon. W. Oppal (Attorney General and Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism) tabled the following documents:

Final Report of the 2007 British Columbia Judges Compensation Commission; and

Report and Recommendations of the 2007 British Columbia Judicial Justices of the Peace Compensation Commission.

The Hon. W. Oppal (Attorney General and Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism) referred Members to the provisions of section 6 (3) of the Judicial Compensation Act and the procedure established therein relative to Compensation Commission Reports.

The House proceeded to “Orders of the Day.”

The House resumed the adjourned debate on the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 40) intituled Tsawwassen First Nation Final Agreement Act.

The debate continued.

On the motion of Mr. Routley, the debate was adjourned to the next sitting of the House.

66 Mr. Sultan to move—

Be it resolved that this House encourages all provinces and territories to reduce barriers to trade and labour mobility by following the model set out in the B.C./Alberta Trade and Investment Labour Mobility Agreement (TILMA).

67 Mr. Yap to move—

Be it resolved that this House encourages all provinces and territories to work in concert with B.C. and its partners in the Western Regional Climate Action Initiative to help fight climate change.

68 Mr. Hayer to move—

Be it resolved that this House recognizes the importance of the WelcomeBC program and supports its commitment to helping immigrants, and their families, to adapt to their new home and to acquire the language and social skills they need to find stable employment.

69 Mr. Black to move—

Be it resolved that this House recognize Spirit Square communities throughout the province, and encourages community participation in their local Spirit Square celebrations of BC150 Years.

70 Mr. Gentner to move—

Be it resolved that this House support the Agricultural Land Reserve by resolving that future land removed from the agricultural land reserve for the purposes of treaty making must go before the Agricultural Land Commission for a decision regarding exclusion under the Land Commission Act.
