That Bill (No. 43) not be read a second time now for the following reasons: It undermines local democracy; will result in dramatic increases in local property taxes and dramatic increases in transit fares; will not provide the resources necessary to create the public transit improvements which are so necessary in the lower mainland; and is an intrusion into municipal autonomy.
