RESTORING CREDIBILITY TO UNIVERSITIES ACT, 2008

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

This Bill repeals the World Trade University Canada Establishment Act, revoking the status of the World Trade University Canada as a degree granting institution.

1 The World Trade University Canada Establishment Act, S.B.C. 2005, c. 42 is repealed.

2 Section 25 of the Education Statutes Amendment Act, S.B.C. 2007, c. 16 as it enacts section 170.3 of the School Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 412 is amended:

(a) in subsection (1) by repealing clause (a) (xvi) from the definition of "private post-secondary institution";

(b) in subsection (1) by repealing clause (a) (xvii) and re-enacting it as clause (a) (xvi);

(c) in subsection (4) by repealing clause (r);

(d) in subsection (4) by repealing clause (s) and re-enacting it as clause (r).

3 Section 53 of the Education Statutes Amendment Act, S.B.C. 2007, c. 16 as it amends the World Trade University Canada Establishment Act, S.B.C. 2005, c. 42 is repealed.
