4 Mr. McRae moved —

Be it resolved that this House recognize the importance of early learning opportunities and acknowledge this government’s establishment of StrongStart BC Early Learning Centres across British Columbia and celebrate its renewed commitment to deliver full-day kindergarten for five-year-olds throughout the province by September 2010. (Mr. Dalton adjourned the debate.)

Be it resolved that this House enter into discussion and debate of an Independent Budget Officer. (Mr. Cantelon adjourned the debate.)

8 Mr. van Dongen moved —

Be it resolved that this House support the actions of this government to fight gang violence and urge all federal parties to continue to implement BC’s recommendations to strengthen the Criminal Code of Canada. (Mr. Les adjourned the debate.)

Be it resolved that this House fully endorses the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games as the largest single economic opportunity we have today.

Be it resolved that this House recognizes the importance of continuing to build and develop new markets for BC wood and forestry products in China, India and Korea.

9 Mr. Lee to move —

Be it resolved that this House support the Asia-Pacific Initiative to build economic prosperity through increased trade and investment opportunities with emerging global economies, such as China, India, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia.

10 Mr. Howard to move —

Be it resolved that this House support the government’s efforts to eliminate federal restrictions on international air travel and pursue Open Skies agreements to allow international air carriers to freely transport passengers and cargo to and from Canadian airports of their choice.

11 Mr. Brar to move —

Be it resolved that this House urge the Federal Government to develop and approve a strategy similar to Australia, United States and several European nations to fast-track approval of enough non-adjuvant H1N1 vaccine much earlier to priority groups, including children, pregnant women and people living in remote and isolated settings, to ensure these citizens are immunized in the month of October rather than delaying until November.

Be it resolved that this House recognize the importance of public libraries and the crucial services they provide as literacy is the underpinning of all learning.
