PROPOSED AMENDMENTS ON NOTICE

The Hon. K. Heed to move, in Committee of the Whole on Bill (No. 7) intituled Police (Misconduct, Complaints, Investigations, Discipline and Proceedings) Amendment Act, 2009, to amend as follows:

SECTION 10, in the proposed section 120 (4), by deleting the text shown as struck out and adding the text shown as underlined:

(4) Despite subsection (3) (b) (ii) (i), the discipline authority may offer a prehearing conference to a member or former member if, in the police complaint commissioner’s opinion, it would not be contrary to the public interest.

13  Mr. Fleming to move, in Committee of the Whole on Bill (No. 13) intituled Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act, 2009, to amend as follows:

SECTION 89 to be amended by deleting the word highlighted by strikethrough and replacing them with the words highlighted with underlining to read:

6.1 (2) In accordance with section 33.1 (1) (c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the minister may must disclose the following information inside or outside Canada with respect to a person who is convicted of an offence, has paid or is liable to pay an administrative penalty or is subject to another sanction under an Act under the minister’s administration:
