WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2002

The committee met at 9:04 a.m.

              [K. Stewart in the chair.]

Draft Report: Review of B.C. Buildings
Corporation, B.C. Lottery Corporation,
Tourism B.C. and B.C. Transit

           K. Stewart (Chair): I'd like to call this meeting to order. Today the business will be the consideration of the draft report to the House containing the review of B.C. Buildings Corporation, B.C. Lottery Corporation, Tourism B.C. and B.C. Transit.

I would like to entertain a motion to move in camera, as we're talking about the draft report.

           D. Hayer: I'll move it.

           Motion approved.

The committee continued in camera from 9:05 a.m. to 10:38 a.m.

Other Business

           K. Stewart (Chair): Do we have any new business or other business? Is there any other new business? We'll be discussing the upcoming B.C. Securities Commission — the motion that was made in camera, out of camera. Anything else in new business? Okay. Bill, you had a motion you'd like to put forward.

           B. Bennett (Deputy Chair): I'd like to put a motion on the floor that states that we added an additional category to our reporting form that asks the question, more or less — and I would leave the final wording up to the Clerk's office and the Chair: "Are there concerns or risks about the Crown agency going forward?" That would be my motion.

           Motion approved.

[1040]

           K. Stewart (Chair): The B.C. Securities Commission is up next week. At that meeting we'll also be redefining our report.

           J. Nuraney: What day?

           K. Stewart (Chair): That's, I believe, the 30th. We're scheduled from nine to 12, so we have three hours. With regard to that, the Clerk's office will, as soon as they get it, send to our e-mails the forwarding information on B.C. Securities Commission.

Any other issues prior to the conclusion of the meeting today? Thank you very much for your input today.

The committee adjourned at 10:41 a.m.
