Ida Chong is a certified general accountant and partner in an accounting firm. She served six years as director of the Southern Vancouver Island chapter of the CGA Association of B.C.

Ms. Chong is a native Victorian and has lived in Oak Bay-Gordon Head for more than 30 years. She is a former municipal councillor and regional district director.

She has been involved in several community organizations including the Victoria Chinese Commerce Association, Silver Threads Service / Meals on Wheels and the Greater Victoria Economic Development Commission. She continues to volunteer in her community such as helping out during the Victoria Dragon Boat races.

A certified general accountant (CGA) since 1981, she has earned several awards for her efforts, including the J. M. MacBeth Award for service at a chapter level, the Harold Clarke Award for service on a provincial committee, and the Community Service Award for dedication to civic service and raising the profile of CGA in the government and business communities.
