Richard Neufeld has been an MLA since 1991. He joined the B.C. Liberal caucus in October, 1997. Prior to his election to the B.C. Legislature he owned and operated his own business in Fort Nelson.

He has been involved in the transportation and heavy construction industry for most of his life. He has extensive knowledge of the challenges facing people who live in northern B.C.

He served on Fort Nelson council for eight years, five of them as mayor. He has been involved with Fort Nelson Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club.

Richard has two children.
