Judith Reid was first elected to the B.C. Legislature in a by-election in 1998.

She was the elected director of the B.C. Shellfish Growers' Association in 1993 and vice-president in 1995. In 1994 she was appointed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food as the shellfish growers' representative on the Baynes Sound Roundtable.

Ms. Reid has been an active public speaker on issues of water quality, pollution and environmental sustainability.

Judith and her husband, Keith, have four sons.
