Glenn Robertson was appointed Minister of Energy and Mines on November 1, 2000.

He previously served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Forests and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Aboriginal Affairs and Labour.

Mr. Robertson was first elected to the Legislataive Assembly in 1996. He represents the riding of North Island.

Before his election as an MLA, Mr. Robertson worked in the forest industry for 23 years. He served for four years on the Mt. Waddington Regional Economic Development Commission, the last two as chair. Mr. Robertson served as a trustee for Local 1-71 of the International Woodworkers of America for eight years.

Born in Montreal, Mr. Robertson came to British Columbia in 1973.

He lives in Port McNeill with his partner, Karen Schwalm, and has two children.
