Valerie Roddick was elected in a by-election on December 7, 1999.

A resident of Delta for more than 25 years, Valerie has a lengthy history of community service in agricultural and environmental involvement and with various civic groups.

Valerie's provincial involvement includes the B.C. Investment Agriculture Foundation and the B.C. Agricultural Workforce Policy Board.

The Roddicks founded a farm fertilizer business in 1971, which serves the local farm community.

Valerie was a president of the Delta South Liberal Riding Association for two years for Fred Gingell, MLA.

Valerie and her husband, Noel, have two grown children.
