BRITISH COLUMBIA LIBERAL PARTY

Tony Bhullar was first elected to the Legislature in the 2001 provincial general election in the riding of Surrey-Newton. Currently Tony serves on the Legislative Select Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs as well as Education.

Before becoming an MLA, Tony was a civilian member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, representing members involved in matters before the Service Court. Tony attended Simon Fraser University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He then attended the University of Victoria where he completed his Bachelor of Laws. Due to his interests in international affairs, Tony decided to attend the University of Notre Dame where he graduated with a Masters of Laws (magna cum laude).

After completing his legal studies, Tony was employed as a federal prosecutor, and then as an ad hoc prosecutor in Surrey. Subsequently he went into private practice with a law firm in Cloverdale.

Tony grew up on a blueberry farm and attended grade school, Cloverdale Junior High and Lord Tweedsmuir Senior Secondary. Tony still operates the farm and manages it.
