MLA: Jagrup Brar

Surrey-Panorama Ridge

BRITISH COLUMBIA NEW DEMOCRATIC PARTY

Jagrup Brar moved to British Columbia from Winnipeg more than ten years ago. With his wife, Rajwant and their daughter, Noor, Jagrup and his family have put down strong roots in Surrey, living in the constituency of Surrey-Panorama Ridge since moving to British Columbia.

Jagrup has a Master’s degree in Philosophy from Punjabi University in India, and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Manitoba.

Jagrup was elected as the MLA for Surrey-Panorama Ridge in October 2004 in a by-election. This is Jagrup’s first term as a sitting member of the BC Legislature, but he brings with him extensive business and community-building experience and expertise.

As the former Executive Director of the Surrey Self Employment and Entrepreneur Development Society (SEEDS), Jagrup Brar trained new entrepreneurs to develop and launch successful small business ventures. For over a decade, Jagrup has worked with professionals and with employers to develop winning strategies for small business successes.

Jagrup is also active in both the Surrey Chamber of Commerce and the Indo-Canadian Business Association.
