BRITISH COLUMBIA LIBERAL PARTY

Greg Halsey-Brandt was elected in the general provincial election in 2001 in the riding of Richmond Centre. He served as Minister of State for Intergovernmental Relations from June 2001 until January 2004. He currently sits on the Government Caucus Committee on Government Initiatives, the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services, the Public Accounts Committee and the Asian Economic Development Committee.

Before his election to the Legislative Assembly, Greg was mayor of Richmond for 11 years and sat on Richmond City Council for a total of 20 years. He also chaired the Greater Vancouver Regional District and was a director of the Union of B.C. Municipalities.

He worked as a planning consultant for municipal and private clients. He also worked in town planning for the City of Surrey and the Corporation of Delta, and did economic planning for the government of Ontario.

He received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from the University of B.C.

He is a member of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, and the Richmond Asia Pacific Business Association.

Greg and Evelina Halsey-Brandt live in Richmond Centre and have a blended family of six children and one grand daughter.
