Reni Masi was first elected to the BC Legislature in 1996 and was re-elected in 2001. While in Opposition Reni served as the Official Opposition Deputy Critic for Education and the Deputy Critic of Advanced Education, Training and Technology. He currently serves on the Government Caucus Committee on Education. Reni is also a member of the Select Standing Committee on Education, and PNWER (Pacific Northwest Economic Region).

Reni is a former high school principal. He also served as chair of both the Surrey School District Assessment and Evaluation Committee and the District Annual Report Committee in 1990 and 1991. He was also the zone representative for the BC Principals and Vice-Principals Association and president of the Surrey Administrators Association. He is also past-president of the BC Liberal Party.

He has also been involved in many community organizations including the Surrey Rehabilitation Society, Surrey/Delta Immigration Services, Scott Road Business Association and the Delta Chamber of Commerce.

Reni and Susan Masi have three adult children.
