David Cubberley was elected as the MLA for Saanich South on May 17, 2005.
David spent 12 years as a Saanich Councillor. First elected to council in 1990, he has chaired the Saanich Finance Committee for the last five years.
In 2002 David was elected to the Capital Regional District Board, where he chaired the Environment Committee for two years. David also served as CRD Water Commissioner and on the Regional Planning Committee.
David served for seven years as an assistant to Ministers of Forests, Finance and Environment. He worked on major policy reforms in forest practices, land-use protection, and recycling/waste diversion.
David was instrumental in building Victoria's acclaimed Galloping Goose and Lochside Trails, and is the originator of Saanich's Centennial Trails project, officially adopted for Saanich's 100th birthday in 2006.
David and his wife Susan and live in Strawberry Vale with their son Bryn.
