Prayers by Mr. Hartley.

On the motion of Mr. Farrell-Collins, Bill (No. M 210) intituled Essential Services Act was introduced, read a first time, and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for second reading at the next sitting after today.

By leave, Order called for "Oral Questions by Members."

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

Order called for "Private Members Statements."

Pursuant to Order, the House resumed the adjourned debate on the motion "That the Speaker do now leave the Chair" for the House to go into Committee of Supply.

The debate continued.

56  Ms. Stephens, seconded by Mr. Tanner, moved--
Be it resolved that the motion "That the Speaker do now leave the Chair" for the House to go into Committee of Supply be amended by adding the following: ", but this House regrets that the government has seen fit to siphon an additional one billion dollars out of the pockets of the taxpayers of British Columbia, further impairing the fragile economic recovery of the Province; and furthermore, that the budget continues to hamper the development of a healthy, diversified provincial economy through its interventionist, ideologically-driven spending measures."

The debate on the amendment continued.

On the motion of Mr. Janssen, the debate was adjourned to the next sitting of the House.

And then the House adjourned at 12.37 p.m.
