Ten o'clock a.m.

Prayers by Mr. Symons.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

Mr. Gingell rose on an alleged matter of privilege relating to statements made in the House by the Members for Mission-Kent and Alberni on Wednesday last.

The Hon. G. Clark made a statement and withdrew any incorrect assertion on behalf of the two Members.

The Speaker stated that the matter did not involve a matter of privilege and that the appropriate course of action had been taken.

By leave, Bill (No. 2) intituled Job Protection Amendment Act, 1993, was read a third time and passed.

Pursuant to Order, the House resumed the adjourned debate on the motion "That the Speaker do now leave the Chair" for the House to go into Committee of Supply.

The debate continued.

Motion agreed to.

The Speaker declared a short recess.

His Honour the Lieutenant Governor having entered the House, and being seated in the Chair -- Ian D. Izard, Law Clerk and Clerk Assistant, read the title to the following Bill:

Bill (No. 2) Job Protection Amendment Act, 1993.

His Honour was pleased in Her Majesty's name to give assent to the said Bill.

The said assent was announced by Ian M. Horne, Q.C., Clerk of the Legislative Assembly "In Her Majesty's name, His Honour the Lieutenant Governor doth assent to this Bill."

His Honour the Lieutenant Governor was then pleased to retire.

And then the House adjourned at 11.44 a.m. until 2 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday next.
