The Hon. G. Clark (Minister of Finance and Corporate Relations) made a ministerial statement regarding British Columbia's credit rating.

Mr. Gingell made a statement.

Mr. Weisgerber made a statement.

Order called for "Oral Questions by Members."

The Hon. A. Petter (Minister of Aboriginal Affairs) made a ministerial statement regarding May 24 - May 28 being declared Aboriginal Awareness Week in British Columbia.

Mr. Anderson made a statement.

Mr. Weisgerber made a statement.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

Pursuant to Sessional Order, order called for Section A of Committee of Supply (estimates of the Ministry of Environment, Lands and Parks).

Bill (No. 22) intituled Treaty Commission Act was committed.

The Committee rose, reported progress and asked leave to sit again.

The Hon. G. Clark advised that the House will sit Wednesday, pursuant to Standing Order 2 (2).

Bill (No. 22) intituled Treaty Commission Act was again committed, and reported complete without amendment.

Bill (No. 22) to be read a third time at the next sitting.

Mr. Wilson moved a proposed amendment to section 21 of Bill (No. 22) as follows:

SECTION 21, be amended to read: "The commission must submit its proposed budget for each financial year to the respective Legislative Assemblies, Federal and Provincial for approval prior to the deadlines set by the principals."

The amendment was defeated on division.

Mr. Wilson moved a proposed amendment to section 22 of Bill (No. 22) as follows:

SECTION 22, be amended to read: "The accounts and financial transactions of the Commission must be audited annually by a qualified independent Auditor designated by the Commission, and a public report be tabled in the Provincial Legislature by the Minister responsible."

The amendment was defeated on division.

Mr. Wilson moved a proposed amendment to section 23 (1) of Bill (No. 22) as follows:

SECTION 23 (1), be amended to read: "(1) As soon as possible, but in any case within 3 months, after the end of each of its financial years, the commission must submit to the principals a report of all activities under this Act for that financial year, including the financial statements and the auditor's report."

The amendment was defeated on division.

Mr. Wilson moved a proposed amendment to section 24 (1) of Bill (No. 22) as follows:

SECTION 24 (1), be amended to read: "Nothing in this Act must be interpreted as preventing the principals from amending the agreement provided that such amendments are tabled in and passed by the Legislative Assembly."

The amendment was defeated on division.

And then the House adjourned at 6.58 p.m.
